Spring Medicine Making with Grass Roots Remedies April 11th
Grass Roots Remedies Herbal Medicine Co-operative are delighted to offer the first in our new series of seasonal medicine making workshops. To mark the turning of the season into spring at the Equinox, this workshop will explore the tradition of spring tonics, whereby folk would replenish their bodies with the newly emerging spring greens growing around them after a long winter eating stored starchy foods. Today with our food system heavily reliant on fossil fuels, we retain access to imported greens all year round. One cost of this is that we have lost our connection to the land & the seasons. Learning to identify and prepare common nutritious wild plants into medicines is an empowering step towards regaining this connection.
This workshop will run out of the Salisbury Centre, and its beautiful garden will provide us with some fresh wild greens to prepare remedies from. It will be a fun and interactive opportunity to make, taste and take home hot & cold infusions, a wild pesto and some infused spring vinegars, as well as learn why you would make each of these different preparations.
