H.O.S.T. House Comedy Night starring Maureen Langan and Ellis Rodriguez
Monthly comedy series to benefit local homeless shelter set to debut on Patterson stage!
Headliner Maureen Langan performs all over the world and shell be adding the Westside of Stanislaus county to her resume when she appears in Patterson, CA for a benefit for H.O.S.T. House on Friday, February 24th at 8pm.
Langan is one of the smartest, most fearlessly funny comics working today. Jerry Stiller says, Maureen is to comedy what James Brown was to soul. Her exceptional wit and honest rants on lifes absurdities make her a comedy standout at clubs, theaters and festivals across the United States, Canada and Europe. She was named one of the Ten Standout Stand-Ups Worth Watching by Backstage Magazine.
Maureen is wry and wicked. Audiences love her and so do I, says The Views Joy Behar. Whether Maureen is lambasting celebrities, satirizing news, or joking about her father, a garbageman, and her mother, a blessed Irish immigrant, she will make you laugh, and she will make you think.
Not just a stand up comic, Maureen is also an award-winning broadcast journalist. She can be heard every Sunday night hosting Hangin with Langan, a live, three-hour talk show on San Franciscos premier radio station, KGO. She is also a frequent guest host on Cumulus stations across the country, including WABC in NYC.
Her wit and shoot-from-the hip interviewing style earned her the title of Best Female Commentator for her work on Bloomberg Television and Radio. She has dished with the likes of Howard Stern, Joan Rivers, George Carlin, Sandra Bernhard and John Cleese.
Featured act, Ellis Rodriguez, is by far the funniest of nine children. Raised by immigrant parents from Panama, he found his calling when he picked up a mic.
This Latino former Marine is a smart, charismatic and energetic performer. He has been featured in Kevin Harts new Comedy Central production, Hart of the City. Hes performed on the Shaqs All Star Comedy Jam, Laughs on FOX, and was a finalist at the Las Vegas World Series of Comedy and NBCs Stand Up for Diversity, and a finalist Comedy Centrals Up Next.

About Comedy and Red Dragonfly Productions:
Who doesn't need a good laugh nowadays? Sure, we can always seek out our local comedy club to catch the latest up-and-coming comic amidst the two-drink minimum charges and suggestive material. But, there is a new trend in comedy. Featured standup comedy evenings are becoming a welcome addition to fundraising efforts by non-profit organizations.
You can buy cookie dough at your kids schools, you can buy Christmas wrapping paper from the PTA, you can even buy all the Girl Scout cookies you want. But, many are looking at a comedy show as a new and fresh way to raise money for a good cause.
Red Dragonfly Productions has a handle on this trend, and focuses on booking comics with smart material for thinking adults who enjoy a night out and like that feeling you get when youve done a good deed in your community.
