Comedy In The Afternoon
A DANCE PLAY WITH MUSIC Written and Directed by Del Fidanque Comedy In The Afternoon is a production of Comedy In The Afternoon,Inc. M.D. Fidanque, President NOW THREE ADDITONAL SHOWS! 18 TOTAL! Welcome to our world, where the International Woman of Strength, Heather Wahl, will help you to open your minds and hearts. Comedy In The Afternoon is the theatre experience that celebrates Daylight. There will never be an evening performance. During our play everyone is guaranteed to stay awake. No matter what medications you are taking. No matter what your last oral intake was. We will warm your spirits, jump start your brains and help you to forget what century you are passing through. Heather Wahl also doubles as the Woman of Experience; someone who knows what she wants and knows how to get it. She can afford to shop at Bergdorf's and Saks but would rather frequent Consignment stores.
Our show also celebrates the human family. Within its text, Comedy In The Afternoon makes use of six languages: Bulgarian, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Yiddish. Don't worry! If there is a foreign language line, one of the actors always translates. You'll never be lost!
The impertinent Assistant to the International Woman of Strength also known as Young Woman #1 , Gloria Makino, will make sure the IWS stays focused on important issues such as the merits of using disclaimers, when appropriate, and finding ways to tell the audience to shut down their electronic devices. She will explore the merits of being multilingual; help to keep a NYC Dollar Store secure and debate Michelle Bachman, played by Elyse Knight.
Dancers Albena Kervanbashieva and Libby Miga will be interpreting the text and supporting the actors throughout the play, literally and figuratively. Both women are superb classical dancers who can also transition to modern and more! The Woman For All Ages, Elyse Knight, will transition from French to English to Michelle Bachman; the Captain of a Dutch student ship and the imagined twin sister of Henry Kissinger,Henrietta, all in the same play.
Natalie Pawelek will speak Spanish like a diplomat and then become a Valley Girl who is fascinated by Michelle Bachman. Finally she will be lost in New York's Hudson Valley without any food.
Our musicians will move in and out Paganini, Beethoven, and Mozart.Anne Dearth on flute and David Moore on Cello. Del Fidanque, The Almost Old Man, will change from George Burns to Richard Nixon to Rod Serling and finally settle down as Truman Capote. In between he'll portray an anxious and devoted spouse to the Woman of Experience. Del is also the writer, director and producer of Comedy In The Afternoon, the only theatre experience to celebrate daylight.
