Join Born and Raised Ohio comics Jessica Halem (NYC), Dana Austin (Cleveland), Carey Callahan (Cleveland) and Anthony Savatt (Kent) as they raise funds for volunteer GOTV efforts in Portage County, Ohio.
Some call Ohio a Swing State - we know what it really is - a Swinger State.
About the comics:
Jessica Halem (Born and raised in Kent, Ohio, Theodore Roosevelt Class of 1990)
Sun in Gemini. Moon in Sagittarius. Mind in gutter. Jessica Halem is what happens when you mix a hippie Midwest upbringing with a Sarah Lawrence education. The nationally touring comic brings brains and bawdiness to her racy, politically charged stage act and the result is little like a horny Gloria Steinem on nitrous oxide.
Dana Austin (Cleveland)
Dana Austin is a Comic out of Cleveland, Ohio. She has showcased for the Queens Of Comedy, Rudy Ray Moore, Paul Mooney, as well as a member of the Queer Queens of Qomedy Tour. She has tour comedy clubs and colleges all across the country!
Carey Callahan (Cleveland)
Carey is a genderqueer humorist from the west side of Cleveland. They've performed all over the Midwest at diverse locales such as The Grog Shop, The Beachland Ballroom, Zanie's, Chicago's Mayne Stage, Chicago Underground Comedy and the Ohio Lesbian Festival. They host the weekly podcast "The Awkward Sex Show" (which they encourage you to download at www.theawkwardsexshow.com) and are currently studying to be a Family and Marriage Therapist. They prefer gender neutral pronouns, if you hadn't caught on.
Anthony Savatt (KSU Class of 2003)
Three years removed from a lucrative accounting career that included benefits and a pension, Anthony continues to wow audiences with his lack of regret, seasoned audit of human flaws, and complete disregard for modern hygiene. He is the host of Kent's longest running independent comedy show every Monday at the Stone Tavern and co-host of the Pretty Hair and Thunder talk show on Kent State's "Black Squirrel Radio."
