DOUBLE BILL: UJECI (FRAMED) with Artists in Residence
W&M Physical Theatre will premiere a new work entitled Framed (Uje(ci) in Polish) at the DJD Dance Centre at 8pm on march 2-4th.
The first half of the program features excerpts of work from our Artist in Residence Program; choreographers Meghann Michalsky and Kyra Newton will present excerpts of their new works, and choreographer Rosanna Terraciano will present her complete work POLKA (dots).
The 2nd half of the program features the Canadian premiere of a unique new duet work by Wojciech Mochniej. It was presented to outstanding reviews in Poland in November 2016. He developed the work as a vehicle for him and his long-time colleague, dance artist Anna Krysiak. After working together as inaugural members of Silesian Dance Theatre from 1991-1994, the artists meet again on the stage for the first time in ten years. It is a Framed moment in time and an opportunity for the artists to redefine themselves by exposing, exploring, and sharing their new perceptions of the self and body as they mature.
