Comedy Planet Recommends: Corporate Juggernaut Tour with Jane Borden
CORPORATE JUGGERNAUT TOUR 2012 Featuring Jane Borden (Comedy Central, VH1, SNL, Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.)
Thursday Sept 27, 10PM: A Stand Up comedy event with touring comics Jane Borden, Gary Fletcher, and James Austin Johnson.
After years at the forefront of Nashville's alt-comedy scene, Corporate Juggernaut is taking their secret comedy recipe (mostly mayo) all over the Southeast with the help of their wonderful and hilarious friend Jane Borden. Jane, an NC ex-pat, humorist and author, has long been a staple of the New York stand-up scene, including the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She has written humor for Saturday Night Live and NY Times Magazine. Now a resident of Tennessee, she's joined forces with Corporate Juggernaut and the result is the coolest show you'll ever see (probably.) It's stand-up, storytelling, and a few surprises too such as special guests and music, but never poop. Definitely not poop.
As Corporate Juggernaut, Gary and James have shared the stage with Kyle Kinane, Rory Scovel, Louis Katz, Anjelah Johnson, and Nate Bargatze (to name a few) and produced some of the best indie comedy shows in the South.
You think you're ready, but you're NAUT.

Bios:
Jane Borden
Jane Borden has won a lot of badges on that iPhone game Gems, which I'm pretty sure is not what it's called, but you get the point: She's a baller.
She got her start performing at the UCB Theatre in New York, then appeared on Comedy Central and VH1, and then started writing stuff: jokes for Saturday Night Live, humor for The New York Times Magazine and VanityFair.com, and the book "I Totally Meant to Do That". Vanity Fair called it "affectionate" and New York Magazine deemed it "lowbrow-brilliant." Her favorite unintentionally hilarious compliment is when people say, "I loved your book and I *do not* read."
Now, Jane lives in Tennessee, where she got mixed up with Corporate Juggernaut, and so is performing regularly in Nashville and New York. She's thrilled. Thrilled? Thrilled. Really just thrilled.
Gary Fletcher
Mr. Fletcher can bench press a million pounds and steal your lunch money at the same time. He also recites Bible verses in Spanish. In 1984, Gary was born in a small town in East Tennessee. In 1990, he beat up a kid in Sunday school class. In the 2000's, he began his comedy career around Nashville. Since then, he's opened for the likes of Doug Stanhope, Jen Kirkman, Kyle Kinane and many others. Some say he's the Zeppo Marx of the comedy trio Corporate Juggernaut, which he cofounded with James Austin Johnson and John Thornton Jr. The trio puts on a monthly comedy show which has been making waves in the comedy scene. In 2012, Gary performed at The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. He didn't win but he sure won a lot of hearts. In 2123, Gary will probably be dead Or will he???
James Austin Johnson
It's hard to place his accent. A Nashville native raised in the American Southwest with a deviated septum, James Austin Johnson doesn't fit the natural profile of a Southern comic; the similarities stop at plaid shirts and hats. Since he first tried standup on a crowded steamboat showroom at age 14 (true story), James has been walking on the weirder side of Nashville. He and his comedy buddies Gary Fletcher and John Thornton began calling themselves Corporate Juggernaut in 2011, reaching critical acclaim and gaining a devoted local following while stretching themselves to the creative limit. "Above all, I consider myself a human male," says James of his success, "I am capable of speech and when I get amateur tattoos I bite a leather belt." In a comedy universe overpopulated by human males, James is the only one bragging about his ability to speak. And he does that in whatever accent he's got. It sounds like a Maryland dialect. Yeah, definitely Maryland.
