BEGINNER CLASS- students will learn the basics of sewing which will include how to thread a machine properly, make basic stitches, understand fabric and fabric grainline, learn about various seams and hem finishes and zipper installation. Class project will be to make a custom shirt incorporating the various methods learned in class.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS- students will refine their sewing skills by learning about advanced seam and hem finishes, how to read and fully understand commercial patterns and how to adjust commercial patterns for proper fit. Students will work on a button up dress shirt from a commercial patten of their choice. If time permits, students will also make a pair of pants from a commercial pattern of their choice.
