Brasil Guitar Duo
Young in years, not in musicality, João Luiz and Douglas Lora met in São Paulo as teenage guitar students and have been performing together for fifteen years, perfecting a sublime synchronicity and effortless performance style. From classical Spanish guitar to world-music, their passion and expertise bring audiences to their feet. Their peers praise their "maturity, talent, and perfect technique unmatched in their execution of intricate Brazilian rhythms." From Baroque to contemporary, the evening's composers include Jean-Philippe Rameau, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Egberto Gismonti, and Marco Pereira, plus a work by Douglas Lora.
