THOTful - RHINOFEST 2017
Thotful is a merging of the slang word THOT and the word thoughtful.
It is an intrinsic look into African American culture through the lens
of an inner city black woman. THOTful is a merging of different
mediums. It combines, spoken word, movement, sound, writing, and
visual art in order to start a narrative on slut shaming, misogyny,
violence, and identity within the African American culture. It is my
hope that through this project I can deliver a message that transcends
race and picks at shared experiences. We all share in a culture that
can translate into someone else's, we just have to pick past our
physical differences to find it.
