We invite you to join us at the QLaw Annual Banquet on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. The QLaw Association is the Washington bar association of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer legal professionals and allies.
The QLaw Annual Banquet is an opportunity to celebrate the diverse LGBTQ communities within the legal profession, to gather as friends, family, and colleagues, and to reflect on the victories of the last year and the struggles still to come. Each year, the Annual Banquet welcomes over 400 attorneys, judges, legal professionals, public officials, and LGBTQ leaders and visionaries from throughout the state.
This year we are excited to welcome keynote speaker Judge Victoria Kolakowski of the California Superior Court for Alameda County, who has long been a trailblazer for LGBTQ communities and was the first transgender woman elected as a state court judge in California.
In addition, former King County Superior Court Judge William Downing will be honored with the Presidents Award in recognition of his 28 years of dedicated service to the bench, which included his thoughtful and important decision on marriage equality in Andersen v. King County.
