AFP Luncheon, January 2017
Grant writing, like all aspects of fund development, is a skill that can be honed and informed by best practices. Catherine Schumacher, a development consultant with nearly 20 years of grant writing experience, will share her favorite tricks and tips, discuss trends in the field, and provide practical advice for overcoming the anxiety of grant writing. You won't want to miss this great meeting that will provide you with the knowledge and tools you will need to secure important grants in the new year.
Catherine Schumacher is a Greenville-based non-profit consultant and grant writer. A native of Spartanburg, she returned to the Upstate after spending a number of years working in development offices in Boston and New York, and founded Schumacher Consulting in 2005. Catherine has nearly 20 years of experience in the sector, and currently works with institutions locally and nationally providing grant writing and related services as well as strategic consulting on fundraising, Board development and stewardship, and organizational planning. Her diverse client list includes cultural groups, social service organizations, education agencies, and more.
Catherine has led grant writing workshops for Greenville Women Giving, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Piedmont Chapter, and the Spartanburg County Foundation. She is an active community volunteer, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Greenville Forward and Public Education Partners. She holds a degree in American History & Literature from Harvard University.
