Kung Pao Kosher Comedy Presents...
Comedy Returns to El Rio!

Now in its 4th year, this popular monthly (every 2nd Monday of the month) comedy show features the best of Bay Area comedians and beyond. The show takes place at El Rio in The Mission District as that is where San Francisco comedian and comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy, Funny Girlz), began her stand up comedy career 23 years ago.

The October 8th El Rio show features Maureen Langan, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan, Sammy Obeid, Bobby Golden, and guest host, Nick Leonard. Please note: Lisa Geduldig will not be appearing tonight.

She's a regular at Carolines on Broadway in New York City, one of the country's premiere comedy clubs, and performs all over the US, Canada, and the UK. Maureen was a finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition, the first woman since Ellen DeGeneres to place in the top three. She is the recipient of the prestigious MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets) Award for Best Female Comic. She has appeared on The Joy Behar Show, Comics Unleashed, and HBO. She is a regular contributor to HLN, FOX News, and MSNBC. Maureen has been an opening act for Joy Behar, Steven Wright, and Rosie O'Donnell, with whom she performed on the Great White Way. She is an award-winning broadcast journalist who has hosted her own national TV and radio shows. Listen to Maureen as a regular fill-in host on Sunday nights on KGO Radio (810am).

Dhaya has performed at Comedy Day in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, was part of Sketchfest at the California Academy of Sciences, and was a finalist at the Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition. She finds the absurdity in life, including her traditional Indian upbringing in the Deep South, nerd culture, and science and technology.

Sammy Obeid is Lebanese American and born in Oakland. He applies his UC Berkeley double major in Business and Mathematics to bringing laughter to the nation. Recently appearing on NBC's America's Got Talent, advancing to the Las Vegas round, Sammy's style has been described as intelligent, inspiring, and a youthful perspective that reaches all ages. Blending his education and love for being life of the party, Sammy discusses hip social trends in a critical yet hilarious way, making him a favorite at colleges. As the youngest member both of the national tours, CoExist Comedy and the Axis of Evil New Generation, Sammy has worked with Robin Williams, Russell Peters, Dana Carvey and more. He is also the founder of his own comedy enterprise, KO Comedy, as well as the first comedian to ever appear on the Food Network telling jokes.
