Crimson and Gray
Wine enthusiasts, wear your Crimson and Gray or Purple and Gold and join us to start the New Year with a tasting of wines created by Washington State University Students on January 11th! It is exciting to have this opportunity available in Washington for students to prepare for a career in our burgeoning wine industry!

Dr. Michelle Moyer, Caroline Merrell, and Katherine East will present an overview of their Research Projects and update us on the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates WSU Wine Science Center, and the Washington State University, Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center (WSU-IAREC) located five miles northeast of Prosser. See the recipe in this Newsletter for COUGAR Gold Cheese and Cauliflower soup which will be served as part of our elegant five course meal by Stacis Catering. WSU wines will accompany each course; Sparkling Brut with the appetizer, Barbera and soup, Blended Red with salad, Syrah with steak and roasted veggies, and Cabernet Sauvignon with our closing treat, Chocolate Mousse. For those who prefer white wine, Chardonnay will be provided from Bonair Winery, owned by two Cougars, Shirley and Gail Puryear.

Please join us to celebrate; it will be an evening to make you proud of how Washington State University is contributing to our premier wine region and the world.
