SOLD OUT! Jazz @ The Gasworks Presents: Darcy Hepner Jazz Orchestra - A Musical Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald
Formed in January 2008 the DHJO has established itself as one of the premier jazz orchestras in Canada featuring stellar players who individually have performed with music legends such as Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Diana Krall, Tito Puente, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The Woody Herman Orchestra , The Count Basie Orchestra, Manhattan Transfer and many others.
What started out as a three-week-long Big Band engagement in Hamilton's downtown Corktown Pub in 2008, turned into one of the year's most interesting phenomena, (Hamilton Magazine 2008) creating a buzz well outside Hamilton's borders. Since its inception the Darcy Hepner Jazz Orchestra has performed over 100 shows in the GTA.
