Trinity Jazz Festival
Trinity Jazz Festival, a three day music festival. Beginning Friday, January 27, with the 4th annual VIP dinner held in the Plaza Room of the Doubletree Hotel in Greenway Plaza. Entertainment featuring The Charlie Perez quartet.
Jazz concert, Saturday January 28, at Trinity Episcopal Church,1015 Holman at Main, Houston, TX 77004. Doors open at 6:30 pm, with reception and music preceding the Concert. Concert begins at 8:00 pm featuring the Houston All Stars with Bob Henschen, Horace Grigsby, Yvonne Washington and Harry Shepherd. Concert continues at 9:30 pm with Billy Harper, a Coltrane influenced tenor saxophonist, who has actually built upon the masters work rather than copied it. He will be backed by Francesca Tankerly, piano, David Craig, Bass, Andre Hayward, Trombone, Jere Jackson, drums and Nelson Mills III, trumpet
Sunday, January 29th the 16th annual Jazz Mass. A Jazz Mass will be held at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church 1015 Holman at Main. The Jazz Mass will feature Matt Lemmler, music director and piano, April Sloan Hubert, vocalist, the Trinity Jazz Ensemble and the Trinity Choir. This years Jazz Mass will feature and honor the music of Etta James. The Reverend Hannah Atkins, Celebrant There will b a reception in the Fellowship Hall after each Mass
