Broom Making
Get swept away as you work and have fun in this beginner's session. You'll make three or four brooms--a cobweb broom and hearth broom and more--all in the Appalachian style of weave. Wear comfortable old clothing that can get stained.
This is a two-day class: Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. & Sunday, Noon - 4:30 p.m.
Walter Hand is the broom maker at Landis Valley and has been making brooms for over a decade. He makes brooms of all different styles with wood or metal handles. In addition to events such as Herb & Garden Faire and area craft shows, he sells his brooms at the Landis Valley Museum Store.
