Watercolor, Collage, Texture

Students will be introduced to the medium of watercolor with some quick color washes before moving into their main project. They will use color wash, wet into wet, salt and plastic wrap to create various textures and color. They will examine and experi- ment with a variety of papers. Students will look at the work of Rauschenberg and images of popular culture for inspiration. Wear cloths to paint in.

Instructor: Jodi Dillon
Jodi Dillon studied graphic design at UCD and worked in publishing before returning to school for a teaching credential. She has spent the last 10+ years as an educator in art and standard curriculum in the Sacramento City Unified School District, and is currently working with elementary aged children at Phoebe Hearst Elementary School. She will be traveling to China this summer to teach art to special needs orphans.
