Lumina presents its unique version of LEAR - a politically resonant story of an arrogant business mogul, a country split into warring factions, and a powerful, privileged family in turmoil. In a time of fast-paced corporate acquisitions and surface luxury, Lears decision to divide his empire between his three daughters sends the world around him spiraling into a dystopian time of violence and a fight for survival.
Widely regarded as Shakespeares most profound tragedy and arguably one of the greatest English-language plays ever written, LEAR explores the entire spectrum of the human experience: love, betrayal, forgiveness, despair, hope, and mortality.
The Lumina Theatre Group celebrates its 9th production and Luminas 20 years Anniversary with this masterwork by Shakespeare.
