Pueblo Arts Alliance Winter Concert feat. the Shook Twins with in/PLANES
Support the arts in Pueblo! This fundraising event will be hosted by the Pueblo Arts Alliance in partnership with Songbird Cellars. The two hour concert will showcase the group Shook Twins (based in Portland). We are happy to announce that the group in/Planes will be the opener for this exciting show. Inaiah Lujan and Desirae Garcia from the Haunted Windchimes have launched a brilliant group of their own. Alongside the music, there will be a live painting and silent auction offerings. A food truck will be parked on the street and a full bar will be available inside the venue.
About Shook Twins:
Born and raised in Sandpoint Idaho, Shook Twins are an Indie folk-pop band hailing from Portland, Oregon. Identical twins Katelyn and Laurie are the main songwriters, but they also back up their band member Niko Slice (electric guitar, mandolin and vocals) adding his uniquely compelling songs to the mix. Barra Brown is on Drums, vocals and Drum Pad, and Josh Simon is on Bass, vocals, Electric guitar, and synth. Central to Shook Twins sound is their wide range of instrumentation: banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass, mandolin, electronic drums, face drum (beat-box), glockenspiel, ukulele, banjo-head drumming and their signature Golden Egg. Beautiful twin harmonies, layered upon acoustic and electric instrumentation, coupled with Lauries inventive use of percussive and ambient vocal loops, and Katelyns re-purposed telephone microphone, set their sound apart, creating a unique and eccentric blend of folk, roots, groove and soul. Spanning the spectrum from distinctive and genuine to amusing and whimsical, Shook Twins laid-back and fun stage presence draws the listener in, allowing them to take the audience on an adventure. in/PLANES (as in exploring musical "Planes" of existence) is a duo consisting of musical soulmates, Desirae Gracia (Bass/Vocals) and Inaiah Lujan (Guitar/Vocals), founders and core members of popular folk group The Haunted Windchimes. For trio performances in/PLANES add the dynamic sound and rhythmic mastery of percussionist Carl Sorensen (Chimney Choir / Dragon Deer).
in/PLANES offers a different take and spin on American music, drawing influences from 50's pop and doo-wop to the more modern chamber pop sound of the indy persuasion.
"Charmingly exploring tunes that would have sounded right at home on tour with Buddy Holly." - Heather Browne (Fuel/Friends)
