ABWA Career Chapter Woman of Distinction Scholarship Luncheon
This event, held annually since 1983, honors a woman of distinction and raises scholarship funds in her name. This year our honoree is Linda P. Jeffrey.
Now retired, Linda served 11 years with the Kansas Attorney Generals Office and as City Attorney and Shawnee County Counselor. Linda is very active in the Topeka community as a member of the Church of God in Christ, Chair of the Womens Fund with Topeka Community Foundation, and on the Community Action Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Greater Topeka. Linda has received numerous awards, including the Community Action Humanitarian Award, Quality of Life Award Recipient, and the Washburn Black Law Student Association Pioneer Award.
Proceeds from the event support college students pursuing degrees at Washburn University of Topeka and the Washburn Institute of Technology. Through the years, the luncheon has funded nearly $350,000 in scholarships.
The menu for the event will be:

Roasted potatoes
Green beans

Coffee/tea/water
Strawberry layer cake
