Lecture: Jews & Muslims Destined to Be Rivals or Friends?
The Bobbi & Vic Samuels Center for Jewish Living and Learning in Partnership with the Rice University Program in Jewish Studies Welcomes:
Imam Abdullah Antepli
Thursday, Jan 26 | 7:30 PM
As the various conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere continue to move from political to religious, Jews and Muslims increasingly see each other as ideological enemies in many parts of the world.
Abdullah Antepli, Program Director of the Muslim Leadership Initiative at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, will discuss whether North American Jews and Muslims can engage in a conversation of mutual respect and solidarity in this increasingly polarized and divisive context.
Rabbi Steve Morgen will offer reflections prior to and after the talk.
$5 in advance | $10 at the door
