Shibori is a traditional surface design technique elevated to an art form by the Japanese where fabric is stitched, folded or wrapped to resist the dye bath. We will be using an indigo dye bath for this class. Each student will take home a notebook of samples they create in class and a bandanna they have decorated using techniques learned in class. Students need to bring scissors, dye apron (or wear old clothes), rubber/ latex gloves. This is a beginner level class.
Class size limited to 12 participants.
