Nutcracker Batavia Dec. 17/18
The New York State Ballet presents "The Nutcracker"- the classic Christmas ballet with world famous music by Tchaikovsky. The story is about a young girl Clara who falls asleep during her family's Christmas party with her beloved Nutcracker doll. The doll then comes alive, does battle with the Mouse King, and takes her to the Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy. There Clara celebrates various sweets represented by dances from around the world. The ballet has something for everyone and is sure to get everyone into the holiday spirit.
