Jewish Identity in the Space Between with Daniel Schifrin
A discussion with Daniel Schifrin, writer in residence at the Contemporary Jewish Museum and columnist for the J Weekly newspaper. Jewish identity has always been a hybrid of ancient models and contemporary influences. Today is no different, as Jews continually reinvent traditional rituals and texts in light of what is happening in the larger world. In this audio/visual presentation, Daniel Schifrin will discuss how the Jewish identities of many artists and cultural creators today are defined by the awkward yet enriching "space between" traditional Jewish ideals and the larger cultural conversation.
