Slow Food Shasta Cascade and anewscafe.com present A Harvest Sampler, an evening that will be locavores' delight. The many samples of food prepared with local ingredients will be created by the talented French chef Reynald Tel, giving a preview of the pop-up restaurant he will host in November.
A Harvest Sampler will feature silent auction items contributed by some of the community's most notable individuals and businesses, and a few surprise gifts from outside the region, too.
A Harvest Sampler honors Slow Food, the international non-profit organization that supports a sustainable, local food supply, and promotes cultural culinary traditions and the revival of the kitchen and dining table as the source of one of life's greatest pleasures.
Slow Food, founded in Turin, Italy, will hold its biennial conference, Terra Madre, in Turin. It will be attended by delegates from around the world, including anewscafe.com's own Doni Chamberlain, chosen as a Central California delegate to represent the north state.
