Voices of Change
Portland Vocal Consort's sixth season begins with Voices of Change. We celebrate the arrival of Autumn with one of the most famous pieces in the choral repertoire: Palestrina's Pope Marcellus Mass, which has been hailed as one of the greatest Renaissance compositions, and the piece that "saved church music" during the height of 16th century polyphony. Other featured composers include: Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Healey Willan, Edward Elgar, and Johannes Brahms. The 22 voices of Portland Vocal Consort will perform this concert entirely A Cappella under the direction of our Artistic Director Ryan Heller.
