7:00 pm Charlie Hunter Quartet with Scott Amendola, Kirk Knuffke and Kasey Knudsen
The Charlie Hunter Quartet is held in the highest regard across a multitude of genres, from jazz to the jam band scene. Accurately credited by Guitar Player Magazine as possessing a bold musical imagination Hunter rose to fame in the nineties but has remained as busy as ever, releasing a Trio album, Let The Bells Ring, in 2015 and a solo album this year titled Everybody Has A Plan Until They Get Punched In The Mouth. With deep grooves and a wealth of spirited guitar improvisation in tow, its an annual end-of-year tradition to welcome Hunter back to the Kuumbwa stage. Joining him in the quartet will be drummer Scott Amendolawho shares an almost clairvoyant musical connection with Hunter renowned cornetist Kirk Knufkke, and saxophonist Kasey Knudsen.
