Chester Thompson Quartet feat. Tony Lindsay, Barry Finnerty, John Santos, David Flores, Howard Wiley
Oklahoma-born turned Bay Area organist Chester Thompson started playing at the age of five and has gone on to lead a career that would be the envy of any sideman. After settling in San Francisco in 1969, Thompson joined Tower of Power in 1973 and was responsible for the many of their biggest hits during that era. His time with Tower of Power was followed by seventeen years of collaboration and songwriting with Santana, culminating with work on 1999s fifteen-times platinum, Grammy winning album Supernatural. Carlos Santana describes Thompson as an earthy, energetic and exciting player, Thompson now brings to the stage leading this Bay Area super-group featuring 11-time Grammy Award winning vocalist Tony Lindsay, elite jazz-fusion guitarist Barry Finnerty, Afro-Caribbean percussionist John Santos, tenor saxophonist Howard Wiley, and drummer David Flores.
