HANA Awards and Scholarships Fundraising Gala
Held each year, the Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) Awards and fundraising gala is an opportunity to combine philanthropy with a little bit of fun.
The HANA gala has become one of the premier events in Rockland County and is held this year on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the elegant Colonial Inn of Norwood, New Jersey. All proceeds from the event benefit the programs and initiatives of the Haitian American Nurses Association.
HANA continues to make remarkable progress in achieving its mission of improving health for all people at home and abroad. We credit our success to the relentless efforts of our members who are making great contributions at both the local and the national level. In 2010, HANA members worked aggressively to facilitate 567 nurses, doctors and other volunteers to assist with the rescue efforts. In 2011 HANA moved from rescue to recovery and provided nursing faculty to teach at many of the nursing schools in Haiti. This year, our project focus on sustainability with a commitment to the nursing School in Jeremy to provide full nursing scholarships for ten (10) of their students, supplies to upgrade the clinical nursing lab as well as books to update the nursing reference library and established a new computer lab at the school.
The event features Tabou Combo as the entertainment. Tabou Combo has established itself as Haiti's number one music group, and as the "Ambassadors of Kompa." Tabou Combo now has worldwide fans and followers from London to Paris, Holland, Switzerland, Japan, South America, throughout the Caribbean and in North America.
Black-tie optional...hosted reception...cultural music...guest speaker... great networking opportunities and a wonderful dinner make for a spectacular and lively evening for individual guests, advertisers and corporate sponsors alike.
