Elect To Laugh! with Will Durst is a show that chases down the presidential election like a Force Five tornado sniffing out a trailer court with material as up- to- date as the latest leaked tweet from Justice Roberts' law clerk. Blending monologue, impressions, commentary and the occasional rant, this 80 minute critically acclaimed show is a hysterical hybrid of stand- up comedy and theater designed to satisfy the appetite of the most ravenous political junkie by accessing the topical through the jugular. It's smart, funny and has a barrage of jokes that put the "Mock" back in Democracy.
A disciple and descendant of Mark Twain, George Carlin and Spalding Gray, Durst twists the rhythm of stand- up with poetry and punditry o'plenty planting the production firmly in the strictures and structures of a deconstructed one- man show. Or solo performance piece. Whatever. With a single goal: to mock and scoff and taunt, but with taste. And make people laugh out loud on purpose against their will.
Elect to Laugh! aims to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable by hitting the political piñatas upside their hypocritical heads where it hurts the funniest, using the smartest and most topical bipartisan humor appearing on a stage near you. He writes a nationally syndicated humor column, is a 5 time Emmy nominee and has been fired by PBS three times. Having told jokes in 14 countries, his 800+ television appearances include Letterman, HBO, Showtime, CNN and many more. Ulysses Press turned his celebrated Off-Broadway show: "The All American Sport of Bipartisan Bashing," into a book of the same name.

Rhythmix Cultural Works (RCW) has established itself in the East Bay community for five years since opening its doors in 2007 as a community arts center to bring people of all ages together for a wide range of high quality arts experiences.
