500 CLOWN FRANKENSTEIN RETURNS TO CHICAGO
Just in time for Halloween, we are bringing 500 Clown Frankenstein back to Chicago. Just as Victor Frankenstein created his monster from parts of many different people, this new iteration of "500 Clown Frankenstein" will be constructed by a cast of rotating performers. Five clowns will reconfigure into three different casts, each charged with the same task: "make monster." Each unique combination will discover its own way to be pushed over the line, creating a monster from the assemblage of their needs, problems and desires. If you want to see the show a second time (with a different cast!) we're lowering the ticket price- just use the ticket "Another Monster" and bring your original ticket stub with you.
In 500 Clown Frankenstein, three clowns embark on a madcap journey to construct Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. Bound in elaborate Edwardian costumes, they struggle through acrobatic feats in an extended battle with an unruly table. The Clowns stitch together the tale of the Doctor and the Monster from scraps of the classic novel and various Hollywood versions, inviting audience involvement throughout. Comic mayhem takes a sharp turn towards a devastating climax when one clown, forced into the tragic role of Shelley's Creature, suffers abuse and abandonment.
