Referrals of High-Risk Youth for Mentoring Services in Six Juvenile Justice Settings
This training will explore the "referral stage" of mentoring to improve the design and delivery of mentoring services to appropriate "high-risk" youth. Content for this new and groundbreaking training, including technical assistance materials and resources, is the result of a two-year research grant provided by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to the grant team comprised of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, Global Youth Justice and National Partnership for Juvenile Services. This research project explores the "referral stage" of mentoring to improve the design and delivery of mentoring services to appropriate "high-risk" youth, which will likely have a favorable impact on reducing juvenile delinquency, alcohol and drug abuse, truancy and/or other problem behaviors.
