TOSOS presents "Eirebrushed"
Eirebrushed, a new play by Brian Merriman, is the story of the lesbian and gay heroes of the Easter Rising in Dublin 1916. It comes to New York City week after the USA elects a new President!
Brian Merriman's story of true freedom, equal opportunity for all and the meaning of republicanism is examined by four heroes of 1916 as they return today to see did their society of equals actually happen in Ireland.
Four inspirational stories not just of a struggle for freedom but to be free. Can a "flawed" person be a hero? Eirebrushed: when your identity is erased because you don't fit the new Republic.
75 minutes. Presented by TOSOS and the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival as part of Culture Ireland's 2016 programme of commemoration.
