"Unbreakable Soldier"

By Shashone Lambert

Directed by Awoye Timpo

Donnell Smith
Tiffany Williams

Anastasia Tucker

Minutes turn into hours, hours into days, days into weeks, and weeks into...TRAGEDY. Unbreakable Soldier was inspired by the tragic story of Kalief Browder; a hero in his own right. It encompasses fictional encounters of Kalief, in real circumstances from his past up until his heartbreaking death, while daringly and un-apologetically bringing light to the mental, emotional and physical effects of being subjected to solitary confinement as a youth as well as the unjust justice system. Unbreakable Soldier...Not even death will stop his purpose.

Born and raised in Staten Island, N.Y., Shashone is an actor who simply got tired of working for free and having nothing to show for it. So she began writing, creating her own projects, not knowing that writing would quickly become her undeniable passion.

Awoye Timpo  Sister Son/ji (Billie Holiday Theater), Carnaval (National Black Theatre), Ndebele Funeral(59E59; South African tour; Edinburgh Festival), The Libation Bearers (Shakespeare Theatre NJ), Chasing the Bird(Joyce Theater), Children of the Road (NYU), In the Continuum (Juilliard), Tears of Anatolia (Columbia). Other: Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Cherry Lane Mentor Project, Lincoln Center Directors Lab.

Donnell Smith (Kalief Browder/Inmate/Friend) - A creative force, with unprecedented passion, Donnell E Smith began cultivating his artistic expression at a young age, while growing up in Baltimore, MD.  Recording music enveloped his interests, long before acting claimed its rightful place in his soul.  From stage to film, he has worked under the direction of the acclaimed Phylicia Rashad, Jade King Carroll, Chris Burris - and more - and continues to uphold his mission to inspire the world and honor those who inspire him, everyday. Tiffany Williams (Interviewer/Friend/Teacher) - Tiffany's career began as a Theatre Major at City College of New York.  She performed in numerous productions at CCNY, including "Mariposa", "Hair"and "Midsummer Night's Dream". She also has appeared in many off off Broadway productions, most recently in Arthur W French III "I Broke Up With My Girlfriend At A Black Lives Matter Rally" and Allen Jenkins' debut play "Super Cop"  in New York City.

Anastacia Tucker (Stage Directions) - Anastacia is a native of Chicago's southside, who began acting at a young age. She is known for being funny by accident and sarcastic by nature. She has performed at ETA Theatre, The Chicago Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre, The Producer's Club, and in various films. She has done numerous performances with Love Creek's Theater Company, and with writer/director, Arthur W. French III and  Shashone Lambert. She believes the best and safest place to be vulnerable is through creative expression. She likes to indulge herself in reading, dancing, and writing in her spare time.
