Vanishing of Bees Documentary
In conjunction with National Honeybee Awareness Day, this film documents the mysterious disappearance of honeybees across the planet, literally vanishing from their hives. The documentary is narrated by Academy Award Nominee, Ellen Page. Following the screening, Christy Hemenway of Gold Star Honeybees will discuss our need to reexamine our approaches to beekeeping and pollination practices.

Filmed across the U.S., in Europe, Australia and Asia, the documentary examines the alarming disappearance of honeybees and the greater meaning it holds about the relationship between mankind and mother earth. As scientists puzzle over the cause, organic beekeepers indicate alternative reasons for this tragic loss. Conflicting opinions abound and after years of research, a definitive answer has not been found to this harrowing mystery.
