FIRST UP: "Two Truths and Allie" by Joshua Bastian Cole. our Resident Dramaturg.
After breaking up with his girlfriend, Allie, transman Bobby Dvoynik begins to wonder if he's transitioned into the best of all possible versions of himself. After he encounters Jason, the macho alter ego inside of Bobby's mirror, the two begin a relationship that has Bobby's loved ones worried for his well-being. Will Bobby find a piece of his true self he never knew could exist? Or will he be consumed by the literal and figurative ghosts of his past? TWO TRUTHS AND ALLIE takes viewers on an odyssey of self-discovery that calls into question the concept of stabilized queer identities, illuminates the oppressive loneliness that sets in so suddenly after heartbreak, and exposes the isolation that can exist even with a community.
This play will be presented as a staged reading with a talkback following.
