Emilie Towns and Robin DiAngelo @The Well
These two nationally respected leaders in their fields will come together @The Well to discuss Womanist Theology and White Fragility.

It seems that every day there is another video or article that exposes racial tension and community disruption.

"We live in a time when the disregard for human lives in general is astoundingly sanctioned by a legal system that fails all of us when black and brown and native lives are taken and no one is responsible." - Emilie Townes

"White Fragility is a state in which even a minimum amount of racial stress be- comes intolerable, triggering a range of defensive moves...White people in North America live in a social environment that protects and insulates them from race-based stress." - Robin DiAngelo

Dr. Emilie Townes is Dean of Vanderbilt Divinity School, the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of Womanist Ethics and Society, and an American Baptist clergywoman. Dr. Robin DiAngelo is Director of Equity for Sound Generations, Seattle/King County,an author, and is a trainer on issues of social justice and race who was appointed to co-design and deliver the City of Seattle's Race and Social Justice Initiative Anti-Racism training with Darlene Flynn.
