OMG
One-act opera, OMG, is a story of a single-mother's lifelong struggle to raise her only child, born of rape, as she searches for happiness, strength, and relief from the trauma that is forever intertwined with the identity of her son. Through music along with video projections, OMG fuses visual, architectural, poetic, musical, and spiritual elements together to bring a woman's voice into a historical narrative of war and displacement across time and place. The opera seeks to explore timeless concepts such as filial love, female strength, existential change, and universal ideas which have carried religions such as Christianity through millennia.
Stephanie Leotsakos (composer, producer) is a 2016 graduate of Princeton University and will be starring as the lead role of Anna.
