Mountain Kitchen Companion
This fundraiser will benefit the Indian Lake Community Development Corporation and the Indian Lake Theater. Chef James Hudson of Garnet Hill Lodge of North River will demonstrate and share tips on how to take advantage of locally produced and foraged food common in the southern Adirondacks.
The menu for the afternoon will include: Butternut Squash Bisque with Roasted Root Vegetables and Fennel Frond Garnish, Braised Venison Shank with Honey Glazed Parsnips and Carrots finished with Shiraz Reduction and Foraged Crab Apple Tart Tatin with Rosemary Crust, Nettle Meadows Fromage Fraiche Quennelle and Maple Knoll Farm Syrup Reduction.
Chef Hudson will be joined by Anna Bowers of barVino who will share her recommendations for New York wines appropriate for the season and the menu.
Donations for local food pantries will also be collected at the event.
Advance sale tickets are $25. Tickets at the door will be $30. This entitles the participant to sample the menu. Wines will be available by the glass at a separate charge.
