Cover Band
Dance works from the 1970's, 80's, 90's and 2000's are re-invented, twisted, broken, amplfied, flipped, and then blasted through a time tunnel to the 21st century in "Cover Band"--a concert featuring 5 of Chicago's most distinctive modern dance artists "covering"(creating/performing their own version) of Chicago Moving Company classic dances.
Part of the Chicago Moving Company's 40th Anniversary season, "Cover Band" features BONEdanse covering "Crash and Burn"; The Dance COLEctive covering "Sufi Tales"; Matthew Hollis covering "Nancy in the Dustpan"; the Peter Carpenter Performance Project covering "Shimmering on the Edge"; and Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre covering "Altered".
Also at the concert: Costume RETROspective (exhibit of notable CMC costumes 1970-now) and "What the Camera Sees" (exhibit) 40 years of CMC photos on display.
