¡Viva la música!
The Cheah Chan Duo proudly kicks off its eighth season with a program of Spanish music from Latin America and Spain in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The recital will take place on Friday, October 21, at 7:00pm at the historic Church of St. Luke in the Fields in the West Village of New York City.
Featuring the world première of the young Chilean composer René Silva's "Al (Des)Amor... Tres Romanzas", the program also includes works by José Vicente Asuar, Paquito D'Rivera, Carlos Guastavino, Gilda Lyons, Frederico Mompou, Fernando Obradors, Juan Orrego-Salas, Manuel Ponce, and Alberto Ginastera (whose centennial is being celebrated).
Tickets are available at the door for $20 (students and seniors pay $15). They can also be purchased in advance at vivalamusica.brownpapertickets,com.
