#bitchdrinks
A social commentary on the various misconceptions of women in today's society, in correspondence to the 'wave' of feminism we are currently in and how it has, is, and will impact social constructs. Using poetry, five performers discuss, dissect, and debunk the myths and myriads of various women, as well as address the perceived shortcomings and obstacles they inexplicably face. The production's fitting, yet attention-grabbing title, #bitchdrinks derives from two notions: that women can't hold their liquor as well as men (a common misconception of women), therefore being subject to watered-down drinks at bars, and in indication of the social media culture we currently inhabit, with the unbridled power of a hashtag.
