Eva Hendricks, une jeune journaliste ambitieuse employée par la télévision Belge dans l'équipe du fameux Herman Verbeeck est déterminée à couvrir une histoire à propos des émeutes à Molenbeek, Bruxelles. Elle rencontre Lahbib, un Marocain avec un passé sombre qui est son guide dans son monde complexe et brutal. Elle veut peindre un portrait réaliste, mais son patron voit un moyen d'exploiter l'histoire d'Eva en présentant une image de violence sans frein pour augmenter lécoute et gagner la bataille des médias toujours plus compétitive.
