TRUMP the KING or POTUS DRUMPH
In case you haven't noticed there is an election going on! Theater Schmeater is going to add to the mayhem this fall with an original adaptation of Alfred Jerry's iconic Ubu Roi. Pere Ubu is a monster. While he displays pretty much all of the Seven Deadly Sins, his wife Mere Ubu, sets his and her goals on the throne of Poland. Through deceit, bluster, lies and brute force Ubu ascends to the throne. Ubu Roi set off riots at the 1896 premiere, and was closed by the Parisian authorities after one performance. We offer our version as a (prophetic?) satire on our own times and politicians.
