Alice in Wonderland
Alice is lazily reading a book alongside her sister on a river bank when she spies a white rabbit with pink eyes wearing a waistcoat and a pocket watch.
She follows him down, down, down a rabbit hole.
She hears the rabbit say: "Oh dear, oh dear, I shall be too late!" And when Alice lands, she is in a room with a little door leading to a lovely garden BUT she is too big. So she drinks from a little bottle that says: "Drink Me."
But then she becomes too small to reach the key to the little door and she starts to cry. However, she soon finds a little cake that says: "Eat Me."
She soon becomes nine feet high, begins to cry again, and soon creates a rather large pool of tears. But then she becomes small again and almost drowns in a pool of tears!
So begins one of the most beloved of children's adventure tales of all times.
To find the white rabbit, Alice gets advice from a Caterpillar ("Who are you?"), a Duchess, a Cheshire Cat, a Mad Hatter at a tea party, etc. and then finds herself in a rose garden.
The gardeners, dressed in suits of playing crds, are busily painting white roses with red paint. Alice meets the King and Queen of Hearts. She is asked by the Queen to play croquet using flamingos as mallets. A trial ensues with a Knave over who stole the tarts and the Queen declares: "Off with his head!" Then when Alice protests, the Queen persists: "Off with her head!"
Alice awakes from her adventure in Wonderland alongside her sister.
