4.48 PSYCHOSIS is often regarded as one of the most accurate dramatic interpretations of depression and mental illness. Sarah Kane's final play uses poetic and jarring language to paint the picture of a mind struggling with psychiatric disorders. The thoughts of a depressive individual (contemplating suicide, debilitating loneliness, and the inability to recover) are explored and depicted on stage with a keen eye for Kane's brutal honesty.
