FREE Harbor History Tour Aboard the Shearwater
Join Dr. Alan Rice of the Earth and Planetary Sciences department at the American Museum of Natural History for an educational adventure. Enjoy a beautiful sail on the historic schooner Shearwater while you learn about the harbor, from how it was formed to the arrival of Henry Hudson. Dr. Rice will also point out how pollution in the harbor has been dealt with, and how we can continue to make improvements.

Plan to arrive at Pier 25 approximately 30 minutes before departure time. Tickets that remain unclaimed 15 minutes before departure will be made available to standby passengers.
Note: We will not be providing transportation back to Pier 25 from Liberty State Park.
Liberty State Park to Governors Island: take the free ferry Miss Gateway at the OEM Barge, which leaves every hour on the hour.
Governors Island to Manhattan: take the free Governors Island Ferry leaving from Soissons dock, a ten minute walk from Yankee Pier. The first returning ferry leaves at 10:30 am, the next at 11:30 am, with subsequent ferries leaving every half hour. The last ferry to Manhattan will leave at 7 pm.
