FREE Coastline Tour Aboard the Tug Pegasus
The 1907-built Tug Pegasus is a maritime icon whose very existence tells an important story about the history of the Port of New York/New Jersey. Join us as we interpret the world around the Tug Pegasus, teaching visitors about the harbor's value as a rich natural habitat, as a historic waterway that shaped this city's history, and as a thriving commercial port crucial to today's economy. This tug's activity in both World Wars and her survival of technological changes, from steam to diesel propulsion and from riveted to welded construction make her a unique vessel.
Please arrive to Liberty Landing Marina approximately 30 minutes before departure time. Tickets that remain unclaimed 15 minutes before departure will be made available to standby passengers.
Note: There is a free ferry to Governors Island leaving from Liberty State Park every hour on the hour. The last ferry back to Governors Island will leave at 3:00pm.
