The Mushroom Cure

The Mushroom Cure was Inspired by a scientific study showing that hallucinogenic mushrooms may cure obsessive-compulsive disorder, Adam Strauss embarked on a program of vigilante psychopharmacology. By turns hilarious and harrowing, The Mushroom Cure is the true story of Adams attempt to treat his debilitating OCD with psychedelics.

This unique theatrical experience, starring Adam Strauss and directed by Jonathan Libman, first ran in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, garnering widespread acclaim before being workshopped in the New York Fringe Festival, where The New York Times said it mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain and Time Out New York called it riveting... a true-life tour de force and named it a Critics' Pick. The piece also won it won the Fringe's Overall Excellence Award for Solo Performance. The Mushroom Cure has also been presented at NYs Cherry Lane Theater and the Broadway Comedy Club.
