FREE Exploration of Newtown Creek on the NY Water Taxi
Join us for City of Water Day's tour of Newtown Creek, onboard a New York Water Taxi with Newtown Creek Alliance Historian Mitch Waxman. Forming the border of Brooklyn and Queens for nearly four miles, the heavily industrialized waterway has been named to the Federal Superfund list. Onboard our comfortable vessel you will hear about its dark past, learn about its current condition, and imagine its future.
Plan to arrive at Governors Island at least 45 minutes before your tour to allow time to participate in the City of Water Day festival and make your way to Yankee Pier. Please arrive to Yankee Pier approximately 30 minutes before departure time. Tickets that remain unclaimed 15 minutes before departure will be made available to standby passengers.
